Natural home remedies for dandruff are extremely effective. The body in general will respond well to natural medicines. Using a natural remedy is not only a very healthy practice, but safe for the environment as well.

A great herbal remedy. Berberine, an ingredient in goldenseal, is an antibacterial and anti-fungal and very useful against dandruff. Two teaspoons of chopped root should be added to a cup of hot water and then you let it steep for 30 minutes. Strain and add 4 drops of tea tree oil. Pour a little of this on your scalp and massage in and then a little more until you have thoroughly massaged into the entire scalp. Then leave it in for 30 minutes and rinse out.

Try using a shampoo that utilizes natural foaming agents instead of artificial ones. A natural foaming agent like Yucca will be far kinder on your scalp and can help you begin to remedy your dandruff problem.

Mix a two-to-one ratio of apple cider vinegar and warm water. If you want to cleanse and condition your scalp further and add a fragrance to your hair then you can always a couple of drops of essential oils such as lavender or rosemary - both excellent for getting rid of itchy scalps and dandruff.

Mix two tablespoons of cosmetic vinegar and six tablespoons of hot water. Dab with water into the scalp, parting the hair with a comb apply all over the scalp. Next morning wash the hair with shampoo. After the hair is thoroughly cleansed pour over as a last rinse a mixture of three tablespoons of cosmetic vinegar and one cup of hot water. Then dry the hair thoroughly. This should be done twice a week for three months.

If your dandruff is due to a dry scalp, then you can use lemon to rinse your hair after shampooing. Squeeze a fresh lemon into a glass and fill the glass with warm water. Then gently pour the mixture onto the hair and scalp. If you have been scratching your scalp due to itching, this lemon rinse will provide good relief.

The seeds of fenugreek helps get rid of this condition. You can soak 2 tablespoons of the seeds in water. Let it sit overnight and ground it up to form into a paste the next morning. Apply this paste on your scalp and leave it for about an hour.

The mixture of yogurt and lemon juice is effective in treating dandruff. All you have to do is to ensure that you allow the yogurt to ferment for around three days and then apply equal amounts of both the lemon juice and yogurt into your hair. You can practice this on a regular basis during nighttime. Once you have applied the mixture into your hair, wrap it with a clean towel and then rinse it off the following day.

Rather using your normal shampoo, simply use baking soda. Take a good sized amount and work it into your scalp just like you would any other shampoo. Be sure to let it sit in your hair for two or three minutes prior to rinsing thoroughly.
